First off I think it’s awesome that you want to join..it takes alot of heart especially not knowing how it will be. Lol in boot camp you will lose alot of body fat and gain muscle weight but no you won’t look all butch..The Marine Corps is definitely an experience and it’s not for everyone especially nit for those who can’t grow thick skin if they don’t already have it. As for women we are supposed to get treated equal and for he most part we do , but there are always those who still believe that women don’t belong in there. They will try to make you look weak but you just have to ignore them or prove them wrong. And they like to give females a bad name but in the end that will depend on you, and on the choices you make with those around you..There is really not alot that females can’t do that males can, other than infantry jobs..if you have any more specific questions always feel free to ask!! And again big props for joining!

You don’t trust girls? Are you afraid he’s going to cheat on you? Because infidelity is a two way street. If this guy is your fiance then all you need to worry is about trusting him. There are girls EVERYWHERE not just in the barracks. But to answer your question, no, male Marines and female Marines don’t share the same barracks rooms, just the same buildings if the unit is co-ed.

Yes I was at 29, I know the units that are co-ed usually do have co-ed barracks. I was with Head Quarters and shared barracks with the males, I know that MCCESS (the school house) also had co-ed barracks. Sometimes everyone is scattered around, but when I was the barracks manager I put all the females on the same floor as the duty hut…are you planning on getting stationed there?
